El Dorado
A small white dwarf star located next to Section G of Sector 6.
- Frida
Molten surface.
- La Cucaracha
Minor asteroid belt.
- El Dante
As close to an unpopulated, lawless planet as one is going to get. Known to have random and sudden comets and meteors randomly hitting the planet.
- Terrain: a lush utopia that has been heavily scarred with impact craters. The equatorial belt is a dry desert, due to atmospheric heating and moisture vaporization from meteor strikes.
- Population: not more then a handful.
- Government: none.
- Type: Wild planet; only colonists who are crazy or those who can't live anywhere else live here.
- Military:
- History:
- 2050.02.22: Death Angels destroy a chemical weapons planet and transport ship that matches the description of the Sector Seven Space Pirate's transport.
Orbit
- rings like Saturn
- an impressive number of small natural satellites.
- Le Voyager
Major Asteroid Belt
- Los Gigantor
Large gas giant
Orbit
- more natural satellites than El Dante.
- Los Carburator
Medium Asteroid Belt
- El Carro
Medium-sized gas giant
Orbit
- a moderate amount of rings.
- many natural satellites.
138 light years from Sol: HD 28185
A yellow dwarf star similar to Sol.
HD 28185 b
- oribtal period of 383 days at about 1.031 AU.
- minimum 5.72 Jovian masses, though it's true mass might be much greater.
- it is most likely a gas giant with no solid surface.
- orbit has a low eccentricity, comparable to that of Mars. The orbit lies entirely within its star's habitable zone.
- it has been speculated that there might be life on worlds in the system. While it is unknown whether gas giants can support life, simulations of tidal interactions suggest that HD 28185 b could harbor Earth-mass satellites in orbit around it for many billions of years. Such moons, if they exist, may be able to provide a habitable environment, though it is unclear whether such satellites would form in the first place. Additionally, a small planet in one of the gas giant's Trojan points could survive in a habitable orbit for long periods. In addition, the high mass of HD 28185 b of over six Jupiter masses actually makes either of these scenarios more likely than if the planet was about Jupiter's mass or less.
Momoyama
A "largish" yellow-white star, neear the border with the core of the Unified Government (Sector 1).
- Momoyama-1
Micro Planetoid
- Momoyama-2
Desert Planet
- Momoyama-3
Gas Giant. Contains a valuable gas used in operating fold engines. Looks like a giant peach with a similar motley pink-yellow-red colouration.
Orbit
- Core
Platform in low orbit (within the atmosphere) of Momoyama-3. Not a colony per se. Created, managed and run by the gas mining company: Galactic Kroneor.
- Population: 100
- Government: Galactic Kroneor Establishment.
- Type: Mining complex, refinery and management facility
- Military: None.
- Defences: the complex has a few AA gun and missile emplacements. Mostly uses Momoyama-3's atmosphere to hide itself from visual and rudimentary sensor scans.
- many smaller moons and moonlets.
- Seed; Aka: Momoyama-3a
Planetoid that's not a colony per se. Was colonized indirectly by Galactic Kroneor Establishment largely for farming to offset the high cost of importing foodstuffs to Core.
- Orbital period of 26 hours
- tidally locked with Momoyama-3. Daytime always has the dark side of Momoyama-3 in the sky and nighttime is illuminated by the light side of Momoyama-3, giving a orangey-pink hue.
- Size: approximately the same as the moon, but has a 0.83 gravity.
- Terrain: grasslands. Forests limited to alpine and sub-arctic regions. Has few rivers and fewer mountains. What little groundwater there is consists of streams, brooks, ponds and lakes that are above the water table. Due to this, some of the land can be defined as 'muskeg.'
- Population: 750 (est.)
Map of the area near the main settlements on Seed.
- Government: Pseudo-company/emigrant planet Meritocracy.
- Type: rural farming communities.
- Settlements
- Momodani - single large settlement
- five smaller satellite settlements around Momodani; all in prime growing land.
- Military: Colony Defence Force
- Small detachment of really old and used VFs and rusted out Destroids at Momodani. All are basically operational - but for how long...?
- Momoyama-4
Gas giant.
- Momoyama-5
Ice Planetoid, sometimes considered a captured comet and not a "true" planet.
147 light years from Sol; New Patagonia
Major Unified Government emigrant planet in the sector, in the outer reaches of Sector 7. Often serves as a collating point for long range exploration and Galaxy Patrol Fleets.
- New Patagonia
A pleasant world with much untamed wilderness and natural beauty. Its strong defences also let military personnel relax and unwind while their ships undergo repairs and restocking.
- Orbital period: 365 days.
- Rotational period: 24 hours.
- Gravity: 0.98.
- Affiliation: Unified Government
- Travel Facilities: regular shuttles from the space station to the 3 main cities. Internal flights are very cheap and regular. Reliable train service.
- Cities:
- Patago: capital city. A bustling business centre. Ultra modern.
- Meena: Surrounded by forests, lakes and woods. Like Central and Eastern Canada in autumn. Skiing is available up in the mountains an hour's drive from the city.
- Lyric: Coastal resort city. Temperature similar to Spain or Italy. Very modern
- Orbit
- Orbital Fleet Repair Yards
- Huge UN Spacy SpaceDocks (4 large, 6 small)
- New Patagonia Space Dock (Orbital Space/way Station; civilian and miltary)
Civilian module bar: The Rusty Spanner
- Orbital Defences: 20x VF-11 squadrons at Space Docks
System Defence
- 2x Uraga Escort Battle Carrier
- 4x Guantánamo Stealth Carriers
- 6x Northampton Stealth Frigates.
The 18th Galaxy Patrol Fleet is also nearby.
Created by Jester.
Sisko
A medium-sized yellow-white star.
- Mekong
- Terrain: watery/marshy planet, known for its excessive quantities of insects that tend to infect people with something akin to a combination of yellow fever and malaria.
- Population: 200
- Government: N/A
- Type: Farming colony consisting mostly of hermits trying to get back to nature and away from it all. Ignorant of the goings on in orbit.
- Military: N/A
- Orbit
- thick asteroid belt.
- 'Nam (short for Ph'unnam)
Abandoned heavily damaged Zentraadi Flagship that has been refurbished and turned into a huge city and busy spaceport; which is notorious for the lowlifes and other freebooters that frequent the place. Not a place to take the family on vacation.
- Population: 250,000 to 500,000 (est.)
- Government: N/A
- Type: trading post for freebooters, salvagers, pirates and other people on the shady side of UNS law.
- Notable residents: Terry 'Cowboy' Barton (former famous boxing champion), Osaran (smuggler).
- Military: (colony defense force/militia)
- Mostly salvaged Zentraadi mobile weapons with the odd stolen and refurbished VF.
- Residents and visitors may also join in in defence of 'Nam with personal spacecraft (anything goes). Though, they are just as likely to flee when trouble comes knocking.
