Super Long-Range Emigrant Fleet

The Mankind Sowing Plan
The mankind sowing plan, is carried out by two emigration methods, Super Long-Range Emigration, and Close-Range Emigration.  As for these, they are indispensable plans to carry out the recovery of mankind, along with the mother planet, both seeds that received a serious wound in Space War I.

In actuality, the two kinds of emigration are carried out in parallel.  With the large-scale of Super Long-Range Emigration, mankind is dispersing to the whole area of the galaxy for the sake of reducing the risk of the seed [mankind] becoming extinct, while small-scale Close-Range Emigration is to cope with the rise in the Earth population, materials shortages, and so on, which will certainly happen in the immediate future.

The planet Eden.  It was the first inhabitable star [planet] discovered after the sowing plan had started.  In addition, there's also a rumor that Kimu Kyabirofu [Kim Kabirov], who acted as a bridge operator on the SDF-1, was living on Eden.


Emigration Fleet
Besides the premise of a long-range [long term] voyaging city ship, other simple emigrant ships, remodelled [refurbished] transport ships, also existed.  Moreover, the city ship design is quite varied, according to the fleet's touted direction [course], there are dome forms [shapes], sealed colony forms [shapes], and so on.  In addition, in the early stages, not only the Megaroad class, but also the Macross class, equipped with habitation space as a survey [research/investigation] emigration ship, sailed on ahead [first].

Light emigration ships, whose purpose was to investigate [search] within 100 light years of the Solar system.  From a half-year delay after the launching of Megaroad 01, of the first Super Long-Range Emigration Fleet, they were increasingly beginning journeys, and discovered an inhabitable Planet, Eden, in the Groomsbridge star system, 11.7 light years from the Solar system.

Macross Class
The survey [investigation, research] emigration ship, a mass-produced SDF-1, with a simple residence [dwelling, habitation] space prepared [set-up] inside.  Preceding the Megaroad-01 at the Super Long-Range Emigration Fleet's first camp [encampment, battle formation], for the sake of surveying [investigating] the route [course], ensure [securing] safety, and so on, a plurality set sail, serving as the leaders for the benefit of the following [next] emigration ship.

Although the SDF-1 Macross's accommodation space was the accidental product of the huge hull, it had a big influence on the next emigration ship's design.

SDF-1 Macross
The battleship that was the repaired ASS-1.  The full length is about 1,200 m, and it is also the first spaceship to pick up the average citizen and sailed the universe.  Duplicate emigrant ships based on this warship were mass-produced and departed (to sail the universe).


Megaroad Class
(An) early [beginning] emigrant ship, which is a super long-range emigration re-design of the Macross Class.  A ship with thousands to tens of thousands of crew members, that acts as the main ship of the escort [convoy] fleet; composed of Zentradi warships, fold navigation enabled ARMD Class ships, Space Destroyer Class ships, supply ships and so on.

The Megaroad-01, a residential warship, is the first emigrant fleet's flagship.  After it, one or two warships were built every year, and sailed [put out to sea] one after another.

Megaroad-01
The first legitimate [full scale] emigration ship, was a re-design of the SDF-2, which was advancing in construction on the moon's surface's Apollo base.  Overall length is about 1,600 m.


New Macross Class
A dome-type city ship.  The fleet composition contains a naval fleet with functions other than habitation, such as a factory warship and an amusement warship.  It has a capacity which can cope with a growth in population up to a maximum of 1 million people.  Incidentally, the overall population of Macross 7 is about 350,000 people.

Macross 7
The New Macross Class No. 7 [7th] Warship has an overall length of about 7,770 m.  The figure is of the Battle 7 Battleship docked with the City 7 City Ship.

The city ship and the accompanying companion warships, furnished with various functions, are connected with a transportation network in the void of space.


Island Cluster Class
The fifth generation type [model], huge [gigantic] emigrant fleet, which can cycle [circulate] within the entire fleet all of the resources [goods] from a bioplant.  Quite a few environment warships are docked to the city ship and accompany it.  The appearance [exterior], is similar to the New Macross Class, however the fleet in it's entirety boasts of a population of 10 million people.

Island 1
Island 1 is the Macross Frontier Fleet's City Ship, and it's overall length largely exceeds that of the New Macross Class (City Ship).  The figure [image] is of the city ship as seen from the top.

The mother ship on its own has multiple functions [faculties], as [an] industrial blocks and so on are set in the lower layer of the ship.

So the SDF-1 model (as seen in the Global) was used as the template for emigrant ships and were mass-produced and departed (to sail the universe). Very, very interesting.

Well the original line art for the SDF-2 looked very close to the SDF-1 Macross.   It was radically redesigned as the Megaroad for Flash Back 2012.

Makes sense to clone competent people.  Ships and future colonies need brillant engineers and scienist to establish themselves during the first crucial years.  Could they take the gamble with Joe average clone engineer?   I like the partly-compulsory bit.   Did they clone the right people (smart & healthy) and them forced them and some natural born off planet?

In Macross Frontier, you can see a few clones, President Glass and Mishama as well. Oh! And Kamjin! Pretty freaky.

Sometimes I wish the source text was a bit more precise.  That "plurality" really aggrivates me, both from a translator's and a fan's point of view (it's the word used in the original, and there is no hint of a quantity.)  The only thing that is clear is that "two or more" Macross Class ships accompanied the Megaroad class Super Long-Range Emmigration Fleets.

Which implies that there are at least 60 Macross class vessels in the fleet!  Talk about mass-production!


Now, with the Megaroad Class done, I think we can safely summarize the ships in the Megaroad SLRE Fleets:
